Our Story

Why we built Ethiza Learning and why it matters for your child.

Where It All Began

Every parent wants the best for their child. When it comes to education, most of us try everything, buying books, searching for worksheets online, arranging private tutors, and even signing for tuition centres. But somewhere along the way, we realised something was quietly broken.

Books assume a teacher in the room. Most parents are not trained teachers, and sitting down to teach your child after a long day of work is exhausting and often ends in frustration for both of you.

So parents turn to worksheets. But finding the right ones takes real effort. You have to plan ahead, search across multiple websites, subscribe to different services, download, organise, print and then do it all again next week. Most of the time, consistency falls apart. And without consistency, progress stalls.

Some parents arrange private tuition. That means driving to a centre, waiting in a car park, paying premium rates, only to find the class is run by a GCSE student or a teacher stretched across too many children at once. Or they go online, where their child sits in a group session staring at another screen, distracted, disengaged.

And all of this on top of the fact that your child has already spent more than 30 hours in school every week. They do not need more classroom time. They need something different.

So we did something about it. We researched, planned, and built a structured, independent learning system that puts none of that burden on you.

The Real Problem With How We Support Children at Home

The issue is not a lack of effort on the part of parents. It is a lack of the right tools.

  • Not every parent is a trained teacher, and that is completely fine. But it means sitting down with a textbook rarely works.
  • Buying multiple books, subscribing to several worksheet platforms, and planning what to print each week costs more time and money than most families realise.
  • Printing at home is more expensive than people think. Even a basic laser printer costs around 10p per page once you factor in toner and paper. 500 pages over a year adds up, and that is before you have found, planned, and organised anything.
  • When the process is complicated, consistency breaks down. And when learning is inconsistent, children miss the building blocks they need. Foundations become shaky. Confidence suffers.

Children do not fall behind because they are not clever. They fall behind because nobody gave them the right practice at the right time, in a way they could do on their own.

What We Built

Ethiza Learning is a structured, curriculum-aligned worksheet system designed for independent practice at home. No teacher required, no screen, no planning on your part.

Here is what makes it different from anything else out there:

  • Every pack follows the national curriculum, so your child is always practising exactly what matters for their year group.
  • Topics are introduced with simple examples, then build gradually from easy to difficult, step by step, in a logical order that mirrors how learning actually works.
  • Each topic gets enough practice to properly land. We do not rush through concepts with two or three questions. We give children the repetition they need to genuinely understand.
  • The whole system is designed for independent use. You hand your child a couple of sheets. That is it. No instruction needed from you.
  • It takes around 30 minutes a day, focused, screen-free, paper-based learning that builds real cognitive habits.

And the cost? Less than a single hour of private tuition for a full year's worth of structured material.

What Changes for Your Child

After two to three months of daily practice, parents notice real differences. Not dramatic overnight transformations, but steady, visible progress.

Confidence comes first. Because we start with questions children can answer, they feel capable from day one. That sense of accomplishment at each stage gives them the motivation to keep going and to tackle harder questions.

Speed and accuracy follow. Take basic maths operations as an example. Many primary-age children solve simple addition or multiplication by counting on their fingers or in their heads. That is painfully slow when facing SATs or 11+ papers. Our maths materials train children to recall these facts quickly and accurately, not by drilling mindlessly, but by building fluency through varied, progressive practice.

The same principle runs through every subject area. Topics are connected in a learning ladder. Each skill reinforces the one before it. By the time a child moves to a harder concept, the foundation beneath it is already solid.

The result is a child who walks into the classroom feeling ready and who carries that confidence into secondary school and beyond.

What We Believe About Learning

We believe children in UK primary schools do not need more teaching. They need more practice.

They are already spending over 30 hours a week in school. Adding another session with a tutor, online or in person, is rarely what makes the difference. What makes the difference is consistent, focused reinforcement of what they have already been taught.

We also believe that screen time is one of the biggest obstacles to focused learning today. Children are surrounded by devices. When learning happens on a screen, the line between education and distraction blurs. Research consistently shows that paper-based learning improves retention and concentration.

Our worksheets are entirely screen-free. They are designed for a child to sit with a pencil and a quiet 30 minutes and to walk away having genuinely learned something.

Our philosophy in three words: understanding, then consistency, then speed. Get the foundations right. Keep showing up. The results follow.

Why Ethiza, and Not Something Else?

There is no shortage of options when it comes to supporting your child's learning. So why choose us?

  • Free worksheets online are free for a reason. Finding good ones takes hours. Organising them into a coherent plan takes more. Then printing them at home costs more than most people expect. We have done all of that work for you and delivered it to your door, ready to use.
  • Tuition centres and online tutors cost significantly more, require your time and coordination, and often place your child in a group where individual progress is hard to track.
  • Subscription apps keep children on screens and often gamify learning in ways that feel engaging but do not build real academic skill.

Ethiza gives you a complete, planned, curriculum-aligned system. Physical worksheets, structured progression, no planning required, no screen time, no tutoring logistics.

It is the most practical and affordable way to give your child the consistent practice they need to build a strong foundation for life.
